Session: Skills building workshop - Concurrent Session II

Earth’s capacity to sustain populations and communities of humans and other species is being altered by changes in global climate caused by human activities.  Living Sustainably – It’s Your Choice is a 20-page booklet that has been developed by ANREP’s National Network for Sustainable Living Education (NNSLE).  It is the first in a series of booklets designed to support the work of educators in the area of sustainable living education.

Focusing on why living sustainably is important, the booklet includes information and a series of activities that guide participants through developing a personal plan of action.  Along the way, participants learn about concepts related to sustainable living, the barriers that get in the way of living more sustainably, and how to use the sustainability triangle to make lifestyle choices and incorporate sustainable behaviors into everyday life.  Participants in this workshop will receive a copy of the booklet and experience many of the activities.  Participants will also learn how to use the booklet to design a sustainable living program that is tailored to the needs and circumstances of their clients.
