Enjoy meeting new friends and renew old friendships. The Rooftop Garden provides a stunning view of downtown Madison and the Capitol Dome and overlooks Lake Monona. It's a great place to "kick-off" the 6th ANREP Conference, watch the sunset, and make plans for dinner in one of the areas many fine dining establishments. Cash bar; beer, wine and soda

Madison is known for its eclectic restaurant scene. Two unique areas containing many dining options within walking distance of the Monona Terrace and the conference hotels are the Capitol Square and State Street areas. Capitol Square is the area immediately surrounding Wisconsin's capitol. It offers some of Madison's finest dining options. State Street is a pedestrian mall that connects the Capitol to the University of Wisconsin. State Street contains unique shops, cafes and restaurants.

Connecting Conservation's Past, Present, and Future: Aldo Leopold's Living Legacy - Curt Meine, International Crane Foundation

Sixty years after his passing, Aldo Leopold's influence on natural resource management and environmental stewardship continues to grow in new and important wyas. Leopold's "land ethic" emerged from his experience in the early conservation movement, yet continues to inspire insight and innovation ad we confront the profound environmental challenges of the 21st century. Rooted deep in Wisconsin's landscape, history, and rich conservation tradition, Leopold's work now provides valuable foundations for all who are striving to build more sustainable relationships between people and land.

Wisconsin Supper: Tailgate Beer and Brats

Join us in the land of beer, brats, and cheese for a farewell get together and dinner at the University of Wisconsin's Memorial Union. Dinner will feature brats, chicken, vegetarian options, and all of the other foods expected at a traditional tailgate party. This will be a great opportunity to visit, dine, enjoy the University of Wisconsin setting along the shores of Lake Mendota, and plan for the next ANREP conference.

The Memorial Union (800 Langdon Street) is a 15-20 minute walk down State Street from the Monona Terrace.
