Family and Guest Activities
Are you thinking about bringing your spouse or family to Alaska? Check out all the great things they can do while you're attending the conference! To view those activities in a calendar-style Excel file, click here.
On conference-day evenings, you'll want to consider some spectacular family dinner outings that take advantage of Alaska's "midnight sun" season.
And you'll want to consider building in some pre- and/or post-conference days to take advantage of our selection of really great natural history tours in the Fairbanks area.
Your ANREP Conference Planning Committee has worked with local ecotourism professionals at the Fairbanks Visitors Center and the UAF Outdoor Adventures Program to ferret out the best single-day ecotours and historic-cultural tours available in the region. In many cases, we've made arrangements with tour operators for special pricing and transport. Plus, we've arranged a dozen activities offered specially for ANREP conferees and their family members!
By using our research to put your ANREP Alaska Conference Adventure together, and by using our Survey Monkey tool (complete this form) to submit your requests, you can get in on these exclusive activities — and be assured of getting a negotiated discount rate for some of the general public natural history tours listed. Plus, in several cases, you'll get in on special transport from and to ANREP conference lodging (UAF campus housing and River's Edge Resort).
Pull up the Family and Guest Activities Calendar and click on a tour name for a full description of the event. Or scroll down to the list below and click on a tour name. Either way, review your options.
After you've decided how you and your guests want to incorporate any optional activities into your own family conference schedule, fill out the Family and Guest Activities Survey.
We will forward your Survey activity requests with your contact information to the tour operators and get the communication rolling. You are responsible for completing arrangements — including payment — with tour operators.
ANREP is providing this information, and facilitating your optional activity planning, as a service to members, but holds no responsibility for the operation of these tours. Be sure to sign up by April 1st. After that date, if the stated minimum subscription has not been reached on any of the twelve exclusive tours being offered by the Wood Center and by "Out in Alaska" with Tim Stallard, the operator may choose to cancel it and will notify those who've registered.
