ANREP offers many benefits professional development and networking opportunities for members.
Professional development
Our flagship professional development opportunity is our biennial national conference where you can share your research and programming with national colleagues. Members receive a discounted registration fee. Other offerings include the two Joint Council of Extension Professionals national conferences - the Extension Leadership Conference and Public Issues Leadership Development Conference, regional meetups, webinars, and training programs on a variety of subjects.
National networking
Members can access and search the online member directory to learn about and connect with colleagues from around the nation. ANREP also coordinates two national initiatives bringing together members and other partners across disciplines to network and learn together about national issues. Our two most active initiatives include the National Extension Wildland Fire Initiative and the National Extension Native Plant Initiative.
Leadership opportunities
ANREP offers a variety of leadership opportunities to help you build career skills and your promotion portfolio. Members in good standing can participate in various roles, such as serving on the Executive Committee, chairing other committees, leading initiatives, and representing ANREP on JCEP conference committees and the Journal of Extension board.
Recognition
Our annual member awards program provides national recognition for your outstanding work. Award opportunities include the Early Career Leadership Award, Career Leadership Award, Individual Program Leadership Award, Outstanding Team Award, and Outstanding Educational Materials Awards, along with additional forms of recognition.
Professional development travel scholarships
Our travel scholarship program can help defray the costs for a limited number of members to attend the ANREP biennial conference. In off-conference years, scholarships may be used towards other professional development opportunities relevant to Extension and/or natural resources.
Jobs board
Members can both post and search for natural resources job offerings in Extension with the jobs board.
Member tenure/promotion packet review
Members can access our online system to find peers from around the nation who volunteer to review tenure or promotion packets.
Monthly ANREP News Digest
Members can keep up with the latest ANREP news and learn what your colleagues are doing around the nation with our monthly email news digest. Although anyone can subscribe to the news digest, only members contribute articles and information about their educational efforts.
